Therapy

We all face problems in life. Counseling or psychotherapy can be a very helpful way to develop a new understanding of these challenges and ultimately find solutions.

Since June, 1971, the therapy program has sought to provide face-to-face outpatient therapy services using cognitive behavioral models to help its clients. The goal of our program is to provide mental health services to adults, families, couples and children in our community, as well as individuals in Butler and the surrounding Counties, who might otherwise not have affordable access to these needed services. The Therapy Department is both accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) to provide Outpatient Mental Health Treatment to Adults, Children and Adolescents and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) to provide Behavioral Health Counseling and Therapy, Mental Health Assessment and Mental Health Education and Prevention.

Therapy and support are provided in the following areas:

On a yearly basis, the therapy program sees between 200-250 clients. In the last fiscal year, the Therapy program reached out to 233 individuals.

Cost

Because we are a contract agency of the Butler County Mental Health Board, the Community Counseling & Crisis Center is able to offer a sliding fee scale based upon income to those who meet certain criteria. The Mental Health Board utilizes local tax dollars and state funds to subsidize a sliding fee scale for all children and for adults with one of five mental health diagnoses. Our intake staff can explain how this subsidy works and help to determine if you may qualify to receive it. In addition, the Community Counseling & Crisis Center accepts Medicaid, many insurance and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) reimbursements, and personal payment for therapy services.
